Since the release of version 1.0, we received loads of e-mails complaining about the device driver not exchanging patchnames directly with the POD2 and not behaving as expected according to Steinberg's MODULES.PDF document in the Cubase VST 5.0 CD. Well, this updated version (2.0) does all this. *********************************************************************** GonZoft's Mixermap and Studio Module Driver for Line6 POD2, version 2.0 *********************************************************************** 1. Mixermap ---------------- Changes since version 1.0: Channel-select and A.I.R. buttons added. Red buttons correspond to existing buttons on the POD2, green buttons represent parameters not having own buttons on the POD2. The mixermap is actually self-explaining. Use it to edit the sound currently in the POD2's buffer. To save the edited sound, press the save button directly on the POD2. You can also save it directly from the POD2's buffer to the studio module driver and from there to a file, without saving it to the POD2's memory. Be aware that the mixermap is not synchronized with the POD2 from the start, i.e. when you open the mixermap it won't ask the POD2 for its current settings and display them. This mixermap was edited and tested with Steinberg Cubase VST/32 5.0R4. 2. Studio Module Driver ------------------------------- This driver handles two data types: memory and buffer. Memory stores all 36 patches 1A-9D. Buffer stores the currently selected patch with all edited parameters or merely the selected patch, if it is unedited. The driver has a main and an auxiliary bank. A memory dump from/to the POD2 will include patchnames. The main bank allows you to edit the patchnames. Macros were added for the sound parameters chan vol, drive, bass, middle, treble and reverb. Refer to MODULES.PDF on your Cubase VST 5.0 CD for more info on main and auxiliary banks, patchnames and macros. The files for saving memory and/or buffer dumps have the ending *.GP2 (Gitar POD 2). You can save only the buffer, only the memory or both into such a file. Refer to MODULES.PDF on your Cubase VST 5.0 CD for more info on data dumps. Be aware that the data types of this driver are not compatible with those of other programs like e.g. SoundDiver (or version 1.0 of this driver). To transfer patches from one system to another, use the POD2 itself for intermediate storing. When dumping data, make sure that in Cubase (go options/midi settings/filter) the midi-filter for sysex data rec is deactivated (unticked) and the midi-filter for sysex data thru is activated (ticked). This studio module driver was edited with DMaker 1.0 and tested with Steinberg's Cubase VST/32 5.0R4. For feedback, feel free to e-mail us at GonZoft@hotmail.com.
